In this news digest, we share student, staff, faculty, and alum accomplishments from this past month, like our wonderful staff member Niacka Carty who won the CCAS DEI Staff Trailblazer Award! Additionally, we share the recent events that WGSS had co-sponsored and our annual Yulee Lecture that occurred. Furthermore, we share the winners of this year's WGSS Student Awards, as well as events that will be hosted by students and faculty this month.

For the news piece of this digest, we wanted to feature photographer and filmmaker Karni Arieli. Arieli started the Eye Mama Project, an international photography initiative that begun during the COVID-19 pandemic to show authentic representation of motherhood, and is fundraising to protect the collection as part of history. The project has collected approximately 70,000 images from women in over 60 countries, capturing the raw and multifaceted realities of motherhood, including experiences with IVF, miscarriages, birth, fostering, and adoption.
