We had a wonderful time listening to Dr. Sherie Randolph discuss her book about Flo Kennedy’s legacy.

Dr. Randolph explained how Flo Kennedy was a firm believer that Black power can inform the women’s liberation movement and had a lot of power as a lawyer and as an activist. Additionally, Dr. Randolph brought up topics including  the birth control as Black genocide debate, the role of Black politicians in decriminalizing abortion, and the importance of intersectionality as a framework for reproductive justice. We also had an important discussion about why Flo Kennedy is not as well known as she should be based on the number of accomplishments she made throughout her life.
